In the afternoon, Noella took us to see the Great Salt Lake. Now, she didn't really think it was too great because she said it was buggy and smelt bad, but, I guess we got a lucky day! It didn't smell and no bugs! Had some beuatiful grasses growing alongside the lake.

Some people out on the salt flats. I didn;t really have any desire to go out onto the flats!!

This is Antelope Island. Click here to read about it. This must be where the bugs are that Noella talked about because they warn you about the gnats hatching in the spring time and bug spray doesn't do any good!

What's left of the amusement park out there called the Great Saltair. It was once a huge attraction.

Now it serves as a rookery for birds!

After Salt Lake, we went by the National Pony Express Monument.

Mary got this picture of 2 of the village volunteers!

We got there at shift change for the volunteers who man the village recreation of what life was like way back when...

Then we hit the "This is the Place" Park where Brigham Young decided that this was where the Mormons would settle.
