Hoover Dam and Saying Good-Bye at the Hotel

This was Sunday, Jun 28. Darrell Sr took Dennis and myself to the Hoover Dam. This is the dry, dusty way out to the dam!
The water level in Lake Meade is down 150 feet.
Along the dry, barren way to the Hoover Dam and Lake Meade.
Dennis and Darrell.
Notice the lighter colored rock layers across the way. That was where the water was before the drought set in.

We all wondered who were the unlucky men whoput the fence in across the way in this picture!

No water release!
Upstream and the new bridge. Notice the color difference in the water.
It was 110 degs and HOT! a couple places along the dam, they had water fountains for the tourists! Dennis made good use of them!
We finally made it to the other side and the vistor's center, but it was a long walk!

The men made some phone calls while I was visiting the rest room. The gift shop was crowded, but I managed to fine a tote bag which had :

"This is my Hoover Dam Tote Bag" on it. the Hoover was in small letters. Pretty cute!

After the dam, we headed back to pick up Ardis and Sharon and headed over to the Excalibur where Kathryn and Darrell Jr and family were to see them one last time before they left the next day. Darrell Jr was on the bed next to a pile of towels.
Oh, my , Gosh! The pile of towels has Derek in it!!
Tomorrow they were to travel back to San Diego. Dennis, Ardis and Myself had one more day before we travelled back to Wisconsin and Texas , respectively. A good time was had by all!
There ensued a wrestling match between father and son!
