1st Annual Great Bunkhouse Rubber Ducky Parade

This year we decided to have a parade. The parade was , at first, scheduled to be in downtown Cypress Mill (all two buildings) and was supposed to have the mayor of Cypress Mill in attendence. Unfortunately, Dena informed me upon arrival that there was no mayor of Cypress Mill and that we needed a parade permit. Well, DANG! So we had our parade on the ranch going between Dena's house and the Bunkhouse. It was a dandy parade! This is Dena's new riding lawnmower. We were decorating it in preparation for the parade. It had a trailor which we turned into a Duck Float. the duck float contained contestants for this year's race and also some from last year's race, including last year's winner, "Lock and Load" by Judy Beard of ALFB.
Agnes and AJ Stephens were assigned to pull Duck Float # 3 which consisted of Rubber Duckys in a Red Rider wagon. AJ had a primo duck hat. It had a LOT of rubber duckys glued all over it!
Mary Walters was assigned Duck Float # 2 Towing Duty. This float was attached to Dena's golf cart which was also most beautifully decorated!
Dena Wenmohs, owner of the Bunkhouse, drove her riding lawnmower with trailor which contained Duck Float #1.
Marchita Priest (ALFB) and Heidi Wittenborn headed up the parade by carrying a most excellent sign made by Joanne DeShong.
Linda Wells drove her red Mustang convertible which carried the Parade Princess Shirley Blevins. That dandy duck umbrella that Shirley is carrying was donated to the ducky cause by Marguerite Bundick of the Art League of Bay City.
Carrie Allbritton and Dena's grandson John drove the golf cart which towed Duck Float #2.
The parade seemed a lot longer while we were parading!
I know, I know, you are ALL wishing you could have been there for this momentous parade! Luckily, we will be doing this again next year and hope to have a LONGER parade! All artists are most welcome to participate in this art retreat and rubber ducky race.
Sandy Talen headed up the second go around with her duck bill quacker firmly in place!
